How To Become Catholic

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a time of discernment. People interested in becoming Catholic meet weekly for instruction and discussion; attend church with our community on weekends; become better acquainted with our Faith Community; and continue to deepen their prayer life and spiritual life.

The process is for both those who are unbaptized as well as for those who have been baptized in another Christian community. We meet every Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in Meeting Room 1. If you are interested in participating in the RCIA process, please contact Deacon Wally Haarsgaard at (336) 884-5352, or This email address is being protected from spambots. At IHM Parish the RCIA begins in August and goes until the end of May or beginning of June. If the individual is ready, the reception into the Catholic Church normally takes place at the Easter Vigil Liturgy.
